About Design Ecologies
Design Ecologies Ltd is a strategic alliance of multi-located artists, designers, and researchers working on creative transition strategies conducive to actions and communities grounded in life-affirming interdependence. Revolving around Dr Britta Boyer’s global network, Design Ecologies’ collective focus is cultural education and artistic creation as part of a worldwide conversation on how practice-led design can foster cultures of sustainability, ecological resilience, well-being, and community empowerment toward social and environmental regeneration.
The embedded principles in Design Ecologies Ltd are based upon Britta’s creative practice and research, 'Many Worlds Meeting', as a powerful metaphor for embracing diversity and leveraging the strengths of different perspectives and experiences when seeking to solve issues of sustainability and equality. We pledge to work in ways that promote anti-racism, inclusion, and support of (g)local economy and natural environments.
We take an integrated holistic and systems-thinking approach to regeneration and sustainability by encouraging thoughtful social and ecological practices among our networks, visitors, suppliers, partners, and more-than-human friends.
We endeavour to collaborate with cultural and environmental partners, weaving intercultural knowledge and cultural diversity, to deliver our crucial work fostering sustainability and nurturing global artisanal practice[s].
